SBQ 8/24/06 and a Happy Dance!
Today's SBQs was suggested by Anna and is:
What do you keep your WIP's and other stitching supplies in when traveling?

I usually use the the largest size plastic storage bag-which I think is the 2.5 gallon size. I carry those in my stitching bag. My stitching bag changes depending on how many projects I like to take with me. I do have a large Longaberger boardwalk basket that I usually use. It can hold lots of stuff.

This is I love my carbs by a Needle and Fred. Completed 8/27/06 I chose this project as a quick stitch. Now I do love my carbs, but these days I follow a low carb diet-sometimes its very hard, but I lost over fifty pounds in the last year so I really try to stick to it! I can't remember the name of the fabric-but it is a more lime green than shown in the picture. Happy stitching !

SBQ 8/9/06 & 8/16/06 and a past finish
Well, I thought I would catch up with the last two weeks stitching bloggers questions-better late than never!

Today's SBQ was suggested by Ami and is:For those of you who use hand or over-dyed floss, how do you store it?
I have no special system to store my floss. I usually like to use the floss away bags and metal rings. I have been trying to find a better way of storage as I collect more and more different brands of floss.

Today's SBQ's were suggested by Ami and Anna:

Do you have an organizational system for your fabric? If so, what is
it? If not, what do you store your fabric in?

How do people store their fabric, especially those small but
potentially usable pieces? Do they sort by count? How do they label it
or otherwise know what each piece is?

I usually keep all fabric with the project it goes with-this is so I won't get confused later. Loose fabrics usually are stored in a plastic storage bag. I keep all my stash stuff in rubbermaid containers currently-but I am looking for other ways to store it. I would love to have an chifferobe or something like that to keep my stash in. I mostly use 28 count linen-so therefore don't have to keep my fabrics really separated! I have been trying to keep my linen labeled with what color it is and who it is by.

This is a finish from a couple of years ago. It is called porcelain geisha by Creative Concepts who are no longer in business. I thought it was very interesting and the eyes are my favorite part!

The Joys of S.E.X.
Oh, the joys of stash enhancement experiences are just ever so delightful! What would we do without them! Does anyone remember that I was hanging onto the wagon by my fingertips? Well needless to say I couldn't hang on. I should rename my blog Sharon's cross stitch addiction! Is there any treatment for that-LOL I also want to thank everyone for their lovely comments regarding my latest finish and my children. I really appreciate them and I love hearing from you all!

Detoured by the LNS
Needle Delights and got the new Raise the Roof pattern called Flip Flops and of course the material-a lovely color called truly pink by R&R. There are 3 patterns in the leaflet and I only meant to do two, but somehow I got material for all three. I am going to change some colors it calls for, so that required some new Crescent colors. I also picked up the new LHN design apples and I am going to try that over one on 25 ct lugana! I think it will make a really cute scissor fob.

I also got in the mail today, my new scissor fob by Haute Water Designs I love it. It is called coral. I am sure some of you know Amy!

I am going to try and climb back on the wagon again(picture me sobbing). Try not to laugh and wish me luck!

Busy Week
Well it has been a busy little week for me here. The kids started school (YAY!) so it has been an adjustment to getting up and getting everyone ready and out of the door. My oldest son started middle school this year-he is twelve. My daughter is in fourth grade and she is ten. Here are pictures of them going off to school. The top is Brandon and below him is Alexis.

In stitching news I am hanging onto the wagon by my fingertips-oh alright I admit it I have one chart on order by Raise the Roof and I am going to get the secret needle night kit this month from the silverneedle called summer suits me courtesy of DH. I haven't been able to really focus on one piece, but I have been stitching on a freebie heart pattern. Here is a picture of it in progress.I have done it on 30 ct vineyard mist with caron waterlilies eggplant.

I seem to be floundering in what I want to stitch-nothing is screaming at me. But, alas I will forge ahead-LOL. Hope everyone is having a great stitching week!

SBQ 7/27/06 and 8/3/06
Today's SBQ was suggested by Von and is:

Many of us have a few pairs of embroidery scissors and some even have a "collection". How many pairs of scissors do you have? Feel free to share a photo of your favorite pair or pairs with us:

I have 3 pairs of embroidery scissors. The pair with the turquoise tassel are Gingher's. They are called Sophia. They are excellent scissors and very sharp. I think Gingher's are some of the best around. The gunmetal tinted pair are by Cougar Stahlwarenfabrik. I picked these up from the Silver Needle in Tulsa. I use these quite a bit-they are inexpensive and not to bad. The scissor fob is by Monsterbubbles scissor candy collection and I really love it. The third pair is by Dinky Dyes and I bought them because I found them cute-but I hate them and only will use in a pinch. They were inexpensive as well-but the Cougar pair is better.

Today's SBQ was suggested by Carol
and is: Do you have a favorite needlework tool that you like to work with? What is it and why do you like using it?

In answer to this question, I have no favorite needleworking tool. I do have a stand by K's Creations, that I use infrequently to hold Q-snaps or a pattern. I would definitely not call it my favorite.
