Today's SBQ was suggested by Cheryl and is:
What do you do with your charts once you've stitched them? Do you keep them or dispose of them? If you keep them, do you organize them in away that is different from the way you keep your unstitched charts?
Once I have stitched a chart, I usually will keep them. Only because I am laboring under the delusion that I will want to stitch it again. I have not stitched a chart twice. I keep most of my stitching stuff in two clear boxes. The smaller of the two boxes I keep my current WIP's and in the larger box I keep the charts I have already done or want to do.
Now on to my UFO, I started this the night Hurricane Ivan came through the Gulfcoast. It is called Tribal Beauties by Jeanette Crews Designs in her Explore Africa book. That was September 15, 2004. I will always be able to remember that hurricane because of this piece. That being said, it has a lot of color changes in it and I became frustrated with it. Did I say it had a lot of color changes?-LOL So, I put it down. I really would like to finish it, so my goal is to finish by the end of July. We'll see how it goes, any words of encouragement would be helpful.
The frog paid me a big visit on my alphabet soup sampler, so no happy dance there yet. I can't seem to get my stitching together this week, hopefully the weekend will prove more fruitful! In other news, my DD had a high fever starting Thursday night of 101.8 and then of 102.5. I ended up taking her to the doctor because she has hemoglobin SC disease which is a form of sickle cell. Unbelievably she had walking pneumonia and was started on an antibiotic. I wish it would start to kick in, tonight her temp was 104! I really hope to see this fever go away and soon!

SBQ 6/21/06 and a little stash...
This weeks SBQ was suggested by Vash
Have you ever used a magnifying glass while stitching? If so, did you
find it helpful?
I have never used a magnifier to actually stitch with, but I have used a line magnifier to read the pattern with. I actually didn't find it very helpful to use as it just seemed to irritate me more. However, I will use it if the symbol is hard to determine.
A little stash pics that I mentioned earlier:
This is Fiesta by Water's Edge and I am going to stitch it on this lovely linen called pumpkin spice java! The other is Lemon meringue Sampler by Casey Buonaugurio, I like her designs. I am attracted to them because I am on a constant diet and I figure I could at least stitch some food, even if I can't eat it-LOL
This a kit by Fleur de Lis called a Happy Moment, I don't usually go for kits as I absolutely hate to sort threads, but luckily for me this kit comes with pre-sorted threads. I will most likely change the fabric to linen as that is all I stitch on now. The second pattern is by Keslyn's and is called Celestial. It actually is done on mono canvas. I plan to cross stitch it. I don't recall the color name of the fabric.
In other news, I have joined my first SAL with Karen and many others on Blackbirds Loose Feathers design Quaker Garden. I am waiting on supplies and very much looking forward to that! Also, the next Loose Feathers is releasing and it very pretty, definite stitching potential.
For those leaving comments on my blog, I really appreciate it. Anyway must go now, happy stitching.

My New Pillows
Look what I just picked up from my LNS! These are some pillows that I had taken in for finishing and look how pretty they came out!
This is Another Martini by Glory Bee
This is Stitching Witch by Stitches and Stones
This is Quaker Hedgehog by The Workbasket
Rava, thank you so much for your sweet comment on my last post. You know as stitchers we are all unique and I like to think of all stitcher's as my stitching sisters or "sistah's" and lets not forget the occasional brother! LOL All of these online stitcher's are amazing people, and I so enjoy visiting everyone's blogs.
Anyway, some stash pictures coming when I get some more time to post! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Another Stitching Sistah!
This is a cross stitch work in progress by one of my coworkers "T". It is Eyore the donkey. She is a part of what I call my mini mission to teach black women to cross stitch. There are not very many of us stitching "sistah's" out there, and I want others to know how wonderful and enjoyable this craft is. This is her very first piece and I think she is doing wonderfully. This after only a few pointers from me and my friend "B". Not only did we get her started, we also got another co-worker "I" started and she is also doing very well.
I am so pleased that others are a least trying this craft and I hope that there will be many more to start. If you haven't already, check out DebVa, a "sistah" new to stitching bloggers. I also have to give a shout out to "D", she is also a coworker that I got started to stitching! She has already progressed to her second piece! I love to pass it on!

Stitching Bloggers Question 6/ 7/ 06
The first request comes from Vash
(http://seasidestitcher.blogspot.com/) who is requesting pictures of
the back of your stitching… are you brave enough to give this one a shot?
This the back of the Thanks piece I just completed.
This is the back of My Cone Runneth Over
The second request comes from Singular Stitches
(http://singularstitches.blogspot.com/), and she is asking for "a
pictorial tour of [the] special place that you go to create your
wonderful stitched creations.
I don't really have a special place that I cross stitch. I usually cross stitch in my bedroom. I can cross stitch just about anywhere!

Busy Weekend and More Stash
Well it has been a very busy weekend here for me, but lots of fun! Took the kids to the water park in Panama City on Sunday and we had lots of fun. We went with my best friend and her family. The kids loved it and I got to sit around and relax. We people watched the entire time and I tell you I saw more flesh than in all the sixteen years that I have been a nurse! As Dirty Harry would say-a man or in this case a woman has to know her limitations. Trust me, I know mine! It's called COVER UP!!
The two pictures above are some more stash that I have been acquiring. I been wanting to start Jamaica Deb for awhile and the fabric just came in! So, I will probably start it today. It is being done on Midas fabric by Picture This Plus. The second picture is of 28 count blue linen, I don't remember the exact color. I am going to use the Mediterranean silk by Caron and some Soie d'Alger silk in a darker blue to do it in. The pattern is from the March 2000 issue of For the Love of Cross Stitch. I did this pattern for my Mom and I wanted to do one for myself. I will try to take a picture of my Mom's. I did it in cinnamon and a darker brown, I don't remember the other color. Now off to stitch and rewatch the first season of The Closer. Happy stitching!
