Small WIP's

Here are some small WIP's that I have going. Lately, I been working on some smaller projects. Faster gratification! The top picture is by A Needle and Fred. It is called I love my carbs (yes, we all do). The second picture is in the Stitch everyday series by Just another Button Company and it is called Thanks. I unfortunately ran out of some threads or it would be finished today. I have been surfing through Heaven and Earth Designs. And I saw this fantastic pattern called Fire Play by Lisa Victoria. It's of a lovely little black girl dancing with a fire background. I haven't broke down and ordered it yet! But it's only a matter of time-LOL I am a little nervous about those designs, because they are so huge. Anyone have any thoughts on HAED's? Help a sister out!

A little stash...

Detoured this week by my LNS. Now, I couln't walk away empty handed now could I? I received two patterns that I ordered from the online needlework show by Anne Cicatelli in France and the other I just picked up because I liked it. It is called June House by Knotted Tree Needle Art. The fabric above I have plans for-the neutral fabric will be for Anne Cicatelli designs. The hand dyed fabric is for a freebie pattern by Dragon Dreams. The middle fabric which is called Dutch Iris will be used for Love by Bent Creek. I am going to use the Crescent Color conversion that you can see on their website. I can't wait to get started! Unfortunately, I have to work today. So not much time to stitch here. I did start a new piece. It is called I love my carbs by a Needle and Fred. Will show a picture soon. Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day holiday! Happy stitching.

A "little" Santa in May

Well, here is my Santa all done. I could have been done a couple of days ago, but work unfortunately took priority! I just love him. I am going to have him finished into a door hanger. I wish I was a talented as so many of bloggers that I read. However, I am clueless when it comes to sewing ! It's another gorgeous day here in Florida. The kids are barely into their first full week of vacation and I already am hearing "I'm bored". Grrrrr!! Hopefully the beach tomorrow! Now, off to feed my little obsession and try to entertain the kids. Happy stitching!

WIP-Alphabet Soup

Tonight I participated in my LNS's all night stitch. It was a lot of fun and we had lots of very yummy foods. I took spinach dip and a veggie crabmeat dip with French bread. My best friend Tina made a wonderful apple crisp. I swear it could put anyone in a diabetic coma! Of course, I bought some stash, some new charts-Wee Valentine by Heart and Hand, and Love by Bent Creek. I also bought fabric for Lizzie Kate's Fall Yall. I become quite fond of silk threads and I bought a skein of Caron Waterlilies called Mediterranean. It's just this absolutely lovely shade of variegated teals. I have no darn idea what I am going to do with it! But, trust me I will find something! Tonight I worked on my alphabet soup sampler by Brightneedle. It is done in Silk N colors threads on 28 count cream linen. My Santa is almost complete, will post a picture when it is done. I still haven't started anything new! LOL what's the matter with me-ohhh! The guilt I guess! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Happy Stitching!

A Finish Sort Of...

This is Aquarius by Monsterbubbles. I actually completed the primary stitching last year. However, I was dragging my feet on the backstitching. It is now done. I can't decide what to do with it though. Frame or pillow? It was a really fun stitch and it came from Just Cross Stitch Magazine 2005, I believe the February issue. I 'd have to check to be sure.

Getting close to another finish...

The stitching God's are smiling on me because I am getting close to another finish. I have also managed not to start anything new. Though I am sorely tempted. This is A Good Night Santa '04 by Lizzie Kate. I did make one change-the moon is done in WDW curry, but I changed it to a Kreinik metallic. I like sparkly things-LOL. I thing it adds a nice little touch all my own. It's a beautiful sunny day here in Florida! No work today. I must stitch, I must stitch! Hope everyone has great day!

Finally! A Happy Dance!

Well, it is finally completed. Who knew such a simple design could cause me such aggravation! But, I am glad its done and now I can move on and feel less guilty about starting something new. I've had a good Mother's day here-lots of love, kisses and well wishes. I hope everyone else's Mother's Day was a great one.

Some past finishes....

I thought I would appease my frustration by posting some of my past finishes. This is Women's Work by Green Apple. I completed it in 2005 and it hangs over my bed. The middle picture is also a Green Apple chart. It is called Pearl and it hangs in my living room. The top picture is called Goldie and yes you guessed it the same designer. I love these pictures and this is what I first started to cross stitch. Of course my interest has branched off into other themes such as samplers etc.

It's called counted cross stitch for a reason

but I obviously don't know how to count! Lo and behold I thought I was finished. But just when I completed the last word I spied a mistake. That scoop of chocolate chip ice cream at the bottom should be over more under the th of runneth! I was 18-yep that's right 18 stitches OFF! I called myself counting this at least three times. I don't know what happened! So, therefore I will have a date with the frog later on today. I am frustrated because I promised I would not start another piece until I completed this one. So, I am chaffing over here. Don't know how much longer I can hold out-LOL. Hope everyone is having a better stitching day than me. Myrna- Thanks for encouragement and the lovely compliment. It was much appreciated!

Almost Finished...

I can't wait to get this piece finished. Though it is not a hard stitch, it certainly has been aggravating. I seem to miscount every row. I would like to finish this tonight but I am so ready to put it down! Only two words to go! Don't know if I will make it! It's been a good weekend here. Quiet and hot! I had to take the cats for shots on Friday. My older male cat Silver has had an upper resp. infection now for a few weeks. He is now on his second course of antibiotics. I am ready for him to be well. I guess, I will try to go back to this and complete it. I don't think I have had a finish since March. I am ready for some happy dancing!

Houston, we have pictures!

I've got pictures! Yesterday I ordered my digital camera with one day shipping from Amazon and it came today. It has been interesting setting it up and I of course could not wait to take pictures of some of my cross stitch. This particular piece was my second finish ever after learning how to cross stitch. It is called portrait in purple by Green Apple. It was completed in early 2002. My birthday was great and I ended up ordering a couple of patterns. I ordered carrot cake sampler by Casey Buonaugurio and swirly sampler by Bent Creek. I found a different color conversion for swirly sampler on another blog. I still ended up changing the colors from that conversion to my own preference. Don't know when I will start that-but hopefully soon. I am going to go stitch some now. Can't seem to stitch for finding new patterns to add to existing stash. I gotta stop.
