Here are a few things that I that I recently had on order or found at my LNS Needle Delights . They were having a 20% off sale! Just lovely! The first picture is a beach pattern by A Whimsical Element and is going to be done on 28 ct Belfast fresco. Carpe Calypso is by Michelle Inkwork Designs-a very fun design that says seize the day-o. I am going to change the colors because I don't care for the flourescent colors it calls for. The other two is wedding row by Bent Creek and M Designs newest-virtue tree
The second picture consists of There is one is in Every Nest by Raise the Roof Designs which I am going to do on a pale lavender linen. A couple of charts by LHN- The Tea Room and Ye Olde Coffeehouse. A sweet piece of linen called Hush a bye mint for flip flop rocks a freebie by Janlynn corporation that Renee directed me towards. Last but not least 2 beautiful Caron Waterlilies called African Sunset and Sheherezade. After this-I consider myself to on the wagon for a bit. I am sure my friend Tina is laughing if she should happen to read this-as she will not believe me-LOL

Quaker Garden Update

Margarita Happy Dance!
Today I completed Margarita by Glory Bee Designs. Done on 28 count platinum linen if I remember correctly. I used DMC thread and it has mill hill seed beads as the salt along the rim. I changed the border from DMC mahogany and used a Kreinik red metallic thread. A very fun and thankfully error free stitch!
SBQ 7/20/06 and a princess
When you get a project professionally framed do you get glass inserted the frame? Why or why not?
I like to have glass inserted into my frames. Mainly because I like to have my work protected from any spills or dust or the children ( who as you all know wreaked havoc on one of my pillows and I am still in recovery-LOL) I have contemplated not having glass on some future framing, but I must admit the thought makes me nervous!
Today, I leave you one my future framing projects The princess and the pea by Raise the Roof Designs. I stitched this in 2005 for my princess and you wouldn't believe how appropriate this is for her-LOL

Quaker Garden Update and a couple of charts!
Well. I think I should win the slowest QG stitcher award this past week! Everyone seems to be moving and grooving along-some at the halfway point already! Anyway, here is a picture of my current progress.
These are two charts that I picked on Ebay by Creative Concepts, called Gentility and Masquerade. Very interesting I think and Gentility is screaming at me a little. We'll see though, they are all kited up and ready to go!
ETA: Rava, I did this on the fabric used for this pattern which is 30 count Garden Java blend by R & R Reproductions

SBQ 7/12/06 and a Past Finish
Today's SBQ was suggested by Carol and is:
Since you started blogging, have you noticed any difference in your stitching habits? Tell us about them.
I don't think my stitching habits have changed at all. I typically stitch daily or at a minimum 5 out of 7 days per week. Sometimes I only get in a few stitches. I do think that blogging can take away from some of my stitching time, because I can get caught up in reading blogs and admiring all the stash and exchanges. I find that reading other stitching blogs can be inspiring and enabling-LOL. Sometimes when I finish reading blogs I am headed straight for a needle and thread!
This is is an old finish of mine from last year. It is called Key West by Brightneedle designs. I absolutely love this design and it hangs in my bathroom. I just like the tropical feel it gives. It originally called for Gumnuts threads which are beautiful but quite expensive. Thankfully they gave a DMC list and I think that those worked out just as well. My Quaker Garden is meandering along and I have to work for the next couple of days so you know what that means- its going to go to a snails pace-LOL
ETA: Su, I had this custom framed

An Unhappy Mom!
I am a very unhappy Mom at the current moment! I woke up this afternoon to find that one of dear son's had spilled red punch or red soda on my little hedgehog pillow! I was very upset, because they know how I feel about my stitching! They also were drinking in the living room, somewhere they were not supposed to be! Fortunately, I did manage to get out the majority of the stain out and I only see a little faint pink tinge. They are staying well clear of me for the current moment as I will be in recovery for just a little bit. All, I can say is arghhhhhhh!

SBQ 7/5/06 and Quaker Garden SAL
Today's SBQ was suggested by
Vash and is:
What is the biggest mishap you have had with your stitching material
(i.e. spillages)?
Early on when I first started stitching, I made the mistake of leaving my stitching unattended on the couch. My children somehow managed to get baby oil on the linen. Fortunately for me I had just started the piece and so was not time invested in it. Of course it was a total loss. I was very upset, and it really taught me to protect my stitching from that moment on. Yes, the kids did survive-LOL
Now, in regards to my Quaker Garden, I did get my supplies and I started stitching. Not too much stitching time as my day was full with errands and appointments. But, here is a picture of the little progress I made!

A Mini Happy Dance!
Well I could not begin the Quaker Garden SAL due to the fact that my supplies did not make it here in time. Hopefully, tomorrow they will come and I can get it started! Meanwhile, I did have a small finish. This is Basking in the Sun by Brittercup Designs. It was a fun quick stitch.
Thanks for all the lovely comments I received on my previous post. I plan to work on my UFO tonight. DD is finally back to normal, temp lingered until yesterday! Thanks for all your well wishes. I appreciate them.
